Staff
Dr. Ken Overturf came to South Side in March 1999, after serving for 10 years in Oklahoma. He is an Arkansas native, having grown up in Austin, Arkansas. Ken is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and received the Doctor of Ministry degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005.
Zack Thomas - Pastor of Worship and Education E-mail ZackZack Thomas and his wife Ariane began ministry at South Side on January 4, 2009. Zack grew up in Greenwood, Arkansas, just south of Fort Smith. He received a Bachelor's degree in Marketing Management in December of 1996 from the University of Arkansas. He also has received a Master of Divinity in Worship Leadership degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2007.
Paula Reed - Administrative Assistant/Financial Secretary E-mail PaulaPaula Reed joined South Side's staff February 2008. Paula's job covers all church functions as well as financial records. Paula brings professional and relational skills allowing her work to create an office system that meets both the business requirements and the servant's heart needed in a church office.
Craig and Kristi Olienyk joined the staff of South Side on Sunday, June 3, 2007. Craig is a graduate of Liberty University with a degree in Psychology. He intends to pursue a Master's in Counseling at John Brown University beginning in January. Helping young people respond to Jesus' love is his passion.
Kristi is staff auditor at BKD, LLP in Fort Smith, and is in the process of earning her CPA. Kristi is available for young women to talk with about issues unique to them, and she has a passion for helping them make wise decisions in adolescence and young adulthood.
Bob came to South Side as organist December 1999. Bob has 56 years of service in music ministry having celebrated 50 years in 2000. Prior to retirement, Bob served as a hospital administrator at Jefferson Regional in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Paula began serving as South Side's "official" pianist in May 2006 after ministering in a fill-in and Sunday evening only role. Paula is employed by St. Edwards Hospital as Medical Staff Coordinator. Paula has been playing piano for 45 years, having begun taking lessons in the second grade. As a preacher's kid, Paula played for the churches where her father served. Paula, along with Roger, her husband, direct South Side's Intercessory Prayer Ministry.
