Scenario 1: “Boy; am I tired today. This has been one rough day. I am just ready to go home, get some dinner, and crash for the evening.”
Scenario 2: “I am sure tired this morning. I think I will sleep in this morning. Oh yeah, it is Sunday. They won’t miss me for one Sunday.”
Scenario 3: “Our schedule is so busy between work, school, and the kids’ extra activities, and now the kids have games and practices on Sundays and Wednesdays. Well it is only for a season.”

How many times have these scenarios happened, or ones maybe similar, that present the temptation and the opportunity to skip going to church on Wednesdays or Sundays? Sometimes we feel that it is not that important for us to make it to church. Unfortunately, this type of thing is happening far too often in our lives today. There are too many times that our life takes precedent before God and Church. It causes us to get spiritually weak.
Just like when our bodies get weak from not eating, or sleeping, our spirit gets weak from lack of food. Paul shows us why it is important for us to be spiritually fed, and why it is even more important for us to be fed in the church. Our spiritual strength comes from God. From having spiritual strength, we are able to discover how wide, long, high, and deep, the love of Christ is for each of us, and how His love surpasses all understanding and knowledge. Paul states that we are able to do this together. Together as a body of believers we are able to gain strength and power through His Spirit into our inner self.
When we are with other believers, gathering and worshiping together, we are able to help and strengthen each other. We are able to talk to each other, encourage each other, and most important, pray for each other. There are also times when just being around other believers picks up our spirit. Singing songs of praise together strengthens us. Studying the Word of God together strengthens us. Two strands of rope are harder to break than one, and three strands are harder to break than two. When we are together with other believers, we can become a very strong piece of rope with our lives intertwined with each other. Through this we are able to experience more of God’s love and strength, and it will be harder for Satan or anyone else to break us.

Overcome the scenarios of life and be strengthened through Christ in being with other Christians. It is your choice.

In HIM,

Bro. Zack
